Failed Intubation Drill (Adult)

Unsuccessful Intubation
During: Un-Assisted Intubation / IFS / RSI
Unable to see vocal cords during initial laryngoscopy

Insert OP Airway and ventilate with 100% O2

Reattempt intubation using bougie with blind placement of ETT over bougie

Is there objective confirmation of tracheal placement using EtCO2?
	No			Yes
Immediately remove ETT, insert OPA/NPA and ventilate with 100% O2			Continue Management in accordance with relevant CPG
	No
Able to ventilate and oxygenate?
	No			Yes
Insert LMA

Able to ventilate and oxygenate?			If sedation /relaxant drugs administered allow these to wear off and Pt to resume normal respiration
Able to ventilate and oxygenate?		Yes
	No
