HR >100 and breathing adequately
General Care
If centrally cyanotic after 7 to 10 minutes post birth
 - Commence O2 at 2 L/min via nasal cannula until pink

HR < 100 and/or inadequate breathing

IPPV in room air at 40 to 60 min until HR >100 and breathing adequately

Re-assess after 30 seconds IPPV
Place head and neck into a neutral position

Assess at 60 seconds
• Evaluate HR and respiration

HR 60 to 100 and/or inadequate breathing   HR <60 and/or inadequate breathing
Continue IPPV at 40 to 60 min until HR > 100 and breathing adequately. Add supplemental high concentration oxygen   Continue IPPV at 40 to 60 min until HR > 100 and breathing adequately. Add supplemental high concentration oxygen
Continue to re-assess after 30 seconds IPPV   Commence chest compressions at 3:1
